Jnetics on Campus – University Screening Week, Jnetics programme dedicated to screening university students with at least ONE Jewish grandparent took place between 20th-26th November 2023.
Our Marketing and Events Manager who coordinated our 45 screening advisor volunteers shared that “We’re delighted that with the help of our loyal volunteers we have achieved our biggest university screening week event, ever in the history of Jnetics and a record breaking 300 students across 60 university campuses took part this year!”
In 20 weeks’ time following the screenings, these students will have gained the knowledge of their carrier status and once they meet their future spouse, can make informed decisions about the health of their future families.
Now that testing is so readily available through Jnetics, no babies need to be born in our community with any of the life-threatening disorders Jnetics screen for. Please continue to help us spread the word about our life saving carrier screening services.
The screening costs Jnetics £350 per test, which we provide for free for students. Jnetics receives almost no statutory funding and is only made possible due to generous donors and foundations. The more students we screen, the more it costs. If you know of individuals or foundations that would be interested helping “pay it forward” and support the project, please contact our Fundraising Manager Emma Bergen emma@jnetics.org.
We are so grateful to our loyal volunteers for helping us achieve a record number of university students screened through Jnetics on Campus – University Screening Week. We look forward to achieving even higher record breaking numbers next year!
