Young Jewish Professionals Gather for Sold-Out Evening Supporting Jnetics Life Saving Work

Thursday, 3rd July 2025 – Moss & Maple, London

On Thursday evening, 50 young Jewish professionals came together for a sold-out event hosted by Jnetics, held at London’s newest kosher fine dining hotspot, Moss & Maple.

Guests were treated to a beautifully presented three-course buffet, described as both decadent and Instagram-worthy. But the heart of the evening went far beyond the food — it offered a meaningful opportunity to learn about Jnetics’ vital work in Jewish genetic health, including screening for inherited genetic disorders and BRCA gene mutations.

Jnetics is the only cross-communal charity in the UK dedicated to preventing life-limiting and life debilitating Jewish genetic conditions. Their work focuses on increasing access to pre-conception carrier screening for 47 genetic disorders — all of which are more prevalent in the Jewish community than the general population — as well as BRCA testing, which helps identify individuals at increased risk of developing hereditary cancers, including breast, ovarian, prostate and pancreatic cancer.

The event was part of Jnetics’ ongoing campaign to raise awareness among young Jewish adults and promote proactive health decisions. Through education, outreach, and accessible screening services, Jnetics empowers individuals to take control of their genetic health — helping to prevent the transmission of genetic conditions and detect cancer risk early.

This impactful evening reinforced the message that knowledge is power, and that simple steps taken today can help safeguard the health of future generations.

Jasmine Mahgerefteh, Co-Chair of Young Jnetics commented: “Jewish genetic risk affects our entire community, Sephardi and Ashkenazi alike. Our Moss and Maple event is about understanding that and taking action together. Everyone that came to the event has taken that next step in helping us build a healthier, more informed Jewish future.”

Emma Bergen, Head of Fundraising and Marketing at Jnetics, added:

It was great to see so many people come together to support the work of Jnetics. The atmosphere was incredible — full of energy, curiosity, and compassion. It’s clear that young Jewish professionals want to be informed, empowered, and actively involved in protecting the health of our community. Events like this are not only a chance to connect and enjoy a beautiful evening together, but they play a crucial role in spreading awareness, encouraging life-saving action and raising much needed funds to enable us to continue our life saving work. We’re so grateful for the enthusiasm and generosity shown by everyone who attended.

The evening not only raised awareness but reaffirmed the power of education, community, and proactive health choices in preventing genetic diseases within the Jewish community.
