Join Jnetics for the next instalment of the Scientific Lecture Series on Tuesday 23rd June, exploring Usher syndrome, an inherited genetic condition that causes hearing and sight loss, and is included on the Jnetics screening panel.
This fascinating and insightful evening will bring together both lived experience and cutting-edge scientific research. Hear from Emma Boswell, patient activist, author and manager of the Usher service at Deafblind UK, who brings over 20 years of experience supporting the deafblind community alongside her own personal experience of living with Usher syndrome.
The lecture will also feature Dr Randa Li, Clinical Trials Research Fellow at Moorfields Eye Hospital, whose work focuses on developing innovative therapies for inherited eye diseases. Dr Li is involved in the Luna clinical trial investigating a promising experimental RNA therapy for certain forms of Usher syndrome and Retinitis Pigmentosa.
Together, our speakers will provide a powerful and accessible exploration of Usher syndrome, from the realities of daily life to the future of genetic medicine and treatment development.
