Jnetics are excited to welcome our new summer intern! Natasha started working with Jnetics last week and has really enjoyed the experience so far. Here is a bit more about Natasha and her internship project…
Tell us about yourself and how you came to do an internship with Jnetics:
I’m studying Biological Sciences at Imperial College London. I first came across Jnetics through the GENEius programme in schools which I took part in. I was fascinated by the organization and the crucial work being done to improve the diagnosis and management of Jewish genetic disorders. I really wanted to be a part of supporting this mission. I came to work with Jnetics through the Imperial College professional project scheme. My internship project focusses on data sorting and analysis.
How have you found the experience so far?
Brilliant! I’m learning so much! I’ve particularly enjoyed discovering more about Jnetics and their mission as well as the day-to-day logistics of how they work. I’ve also loved getting a practical insight into the real-world applications of the data analysis skills I’ve been working on at university.
What are you looking forward to as you continue your internship?
I look forward to learning more about Jnetics and continuing to get to know the team. I’m also excited to make the most of this opportunity to expand my professional skills and work more on data analysis.
GENEius University Screening Week is a great opportunity to find out more about screening. I got screened because the test is quick and easy and could be really valuable for making informed decisions later on. If you’re hesitant, I’d advise you to have a chat with a trained screening advisor during GENEius University Screening Week or take a look on the website and contact the Jnetics team.
